In 2014, the Sierra Sur of Jaén was certified as a Starlight Reserve—the first in Andalusia. This certification guarantees exceptional night skies with magnificent conditions for observing the stars.
Today, the area forms part of the Jaén Astronomical Corridor, a network of protected natural spaces committed to preserving the quality of the night sky and access to starlight. It is a protected natural area offering unique experiences in active tourism and astronomy.
Enjoy night-time hiking, observe constellations and experience the magic of nature beneath one of the clearest skies in Europe—one of the features that sets our campsite in Valdepeñas de Jaén apart.
In this respect, the Sierra de la Pandera is an outstanding location for enjoying the night sky and the Starlight Reserve.

Sporting Activities at Valdeluna
At Valdeluna you’ll find everything you need to enjoy sport in the heart of nature. We offer guided cycling routes—both electric and traditional—as well as hiking trails through the mountain landscape. You can also practise archery in a controlled area and test your balance and skills in the tree-top adventure park, which includes two zip lines.
All activities are organised by qualified instructors and adapted to different ability levels, in a calm and safe environment. Ideal for staying active, switching off and having fun.
